September 30th is Orange Shirt Day and the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, a day set aside to reflect on the tragedies experienced by diverse Indigenous communities across Turtle Island, as a result of settler colonialism. As part of the legacy of Canada’s colonial history, and as a means to systematically displace and assimilate Indigenous people, residential schools were established and operated until as recent as 1996 in Shubenacadie in Nova Scotia.
There will be a meeting for student morning announcements in Mr. K’s room, room 1101, on Friday at 11:55 am. Please bring your lunch.
Mrs. Dixon’s extra help lunch time club is happening today from 12:15 am to 12:55 pm. This is extra help for any subject. This is also extra time if you need to work on class work or have anything overdue. You do not need to be any of Mrs. Dixon’s classes, her classroom is open to everyone needing extra time or help.
